Refunds & Cancellation

What you pay for, what comes back if you stop, and what is already spent the moment we start — in plain language.

OrisunSites · ORISUN Systems and Technologies · Effective 15 September 2026

This policy explains how subscription payments, cancellations and refunds work on OrisunSites. It is part of our Terms of Service and should be read with it. Nothing here takes away a right you have under Nigerian consumer law.

Refund or cancellation — how to reach us

Ask for a refund, or cancel, through any of these. You do not need a form, an account, or a reason.

We reply within two working days. Approved refunds go back through Paystack to the payment method you used, usually visible on your statement within five to ten working days.

The short version

We would rather you read ten lines here than discover a rule later. This page says plainly what you pay, when you pay it, what happens if you stop, and what we do and do not refund.

  • Start with a 14-day free trial — no card, nothing charged, no obligation.
  • Cancel any time. Cancelling stops the NEXT renewal; it does not cut your site off the day you ask.
  • Your site stays live and editable until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Yearly billing is ten months paid plus two months free; 6-month billing is five months paid plus one month free.
  • A domain we register for you is a real registration fee at the registrar and cannot be refunded once it is registered.
  • Content edits — news, events, prices, stock, photos, products, your profile and contact details — are free, for as long as you subscribe.
  • A full redesign (a new layout and look for the whole site) is a one-off ₦4,000.
  • Online Store plans pay a 2% commission on each sale the store takes. Nothing else in the plan is commission-based.
  • To ask for a refund or to cancel: email hello@orisun.site, or message WhatsApp +234 904 910 1934. We do not make either difficult to find.

The free trial

Each business may start with one 14-day free trial instead of paying up front. It is one trial per business — identified by phone number, email address and business name — and it is free: no card is needed to begin it and nothing is charged during it, or automatically at the end of it.

A trial site is a real, live website on a free orisun.site subdomain address (for example your-business.orisun.site), with up to five pages, one AI design pass and three content edits, 500 MB of media and 5 GB of monthly traffic. A trial cannot use a custom domain, an online store or a business mailbox, carries a small "Free trial" badge, and is not submitted to Google until you subscribe.

We email you 7, 3 and 1 days before a trial ends, so the end of a trial is never a surprise. When the trial ends without a plan, the published pages are replaced by a simple trial-ended page and we email you again with your payment link.

Your work, your content and your chosen address are kept: subscribe and the real site is published on the address you picked (and on your own domain, if your plan includes one). Nothing is charged automatically at the end of a trial, and letting a trial run out costs you nothing and obliges you to nothing.

Billing cycles and what they cost

OrisunSites is a subscription, not a one-off build. There is no monthly plan: you choose a quarterly, 6-month or yearly cycle, and these are the current prices — the same figures shown in the pricing section of orisun.site and charged by Paystack at checkout.

  • Starter (site on your own orisun.site address — no custom domain, no mailbox): ₦12,000/quarter · ₦20,000/6 months · ₦40,000/year.
  • Business & Public Figure (includes one free .com.ng domain registered in your name, plus one 1 GB mailbox on that domain): ₦22,500/quarter · ₦37,500/6 months · ₦75,000/year.
  • Online Store (includes the domain, the mailbox and online selling with a seller wallet): ₦30,000/quarter · ₦50,000/6 months · ₦100,000/year.
  • Extra business mailboxes beyond the one included: ₦1,500 each, per year.
  • Optional domain add-ons (.ng, .com, .org.ng, .net.ng, .me and other extensions) are charged at the registrar's price for that extension on top of your plan, and are shown to you before you pay.

How payment works

Payment is taken through Paystack, our licensed Nigerian payment processor, in Nigerian Naira, at the start of each cycle. Your card details are handled by Paystack and are never stored by us. You get an email confirming every payment that goes through.

Your card on file is charged automatically at each renewal — that is what a subscription is. We email you 7 days and 1 day before every automatic renewal charge, and you can cancel any time before the renewal date to stop it.

If a charge fails we tell you, and we try again once a day for that period — up to eight attempts — while the grace period below is running. You are never charged twice for the same period: one charge at a time, and only one charge per cycle.

Store owners on the Online Store plan also collect money from their own customers through Paystack. That money is the seller's, settles to the seller's verified bank account, and is not affected by cancelling the website subscription — except that a seller must have an active subscription to keep the store online and to withdraw.

Cancelling your subscription

You can cancel at any time — from your portal, by emailing hello@orisun.site, or by messaging us on WhatsApp at +234 904 910 1934. There is no cancellation fee, no notice period, no retention call and no phone number you have to hunt for.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not switch your site off on the day you cancel: you keep the site, the content editing and (on plans that include it) your mailbox and mailbox logins until the end of the period you have already paid for. If you cancel half way through a paid quarter, the site runs to the end of that quarter.

If your plan includes a business mailbox, the mailbox stays live exactly as long as the website subscription is live and renews with it — the two are one subscription, and if the subscription lapses the mailbox pauses with it.

Nothing you have built is lost by cancelling, and cancelling does not stop you coming back: subscribe again and the same site is republished at the same address with the same work in it.

When we refund

Our aim is simple: if we have taken money for work we have not done, we give it back.

  • You cancel before we have started building: full refund of the payment, no questions asked. You can see this in the portal — the build status is shown on your order.
  • We take a payment twice by mistake, or a renewal goes through after you had already cancelled: refunded in full, as soon as we see it.
  • We fail to deliver the thing you paid for — for example the site is never published, or you paid for a plan feature we cannot provide: we refund the affected period in full.
  • You have paid for a period and we are then unable to provide the service for a reason within our control for a significant part of that period: we refund the unused part.
  • A trial: nothing was charged, so there is nothing to refund. Just let it end — or subscribe, if you like what you see.

What is not refundable

Some of what you pay for is spent the moment we start, on your behalf. Those items are not refundable once they are done, and we would rather you knew that before ordering than after:

  • A domain registered in your name. Once the registrar has registered it, the registration fee is gone and the registration cannot be undone or refunded — that is the registrar's rule, not ours. On a Business & Public Figure or Online Store plan the .com.ng domain is included in the plan price rather than charged separately, but its registration fee is still part of what we have already spent and cannot be recovered; on a Starter plan there is no domain to spend it on.
  • A period you have already used. The build, the pages and content work, the hosting already served and the mailbox already provisioned and used are delivered work and are not refundable for the period in which they were delivered.
  • A redesign once its new build has been produced. Paying the ₦4,000 redesign fee starts the work immediately; if the redesign has not been produced yet, the fee is fully refundable.
  • The 2% commission on store sales that have already been completed. It is calculated on a sale when the sale happens and is not returned if you later cancel the subscription.
  • Payment-processing charges that Paystack or your bank does not return to us. Where those are deducted from a refund we issue, we will show you the exact figure rather than quietly netting it off.
  • Requests made outside a reasonable time. If you have been using the site for months and no fault of ours has occurred, we will not refund old, already-delivered periods — but we will always cancel the next renewal if you ask.

What stays free

Everything that keeps your site current is included in the subscription and costs nothing extra, for as long as you are subscribed:

  • Content edits: news and announcements, events, products, prices and stock, photo swaps, opening hours, your profile and contact block, and the social links.
  • The rebuild that follows those edits, so the change is live on your site.
  • Hosting, the SSL padlock, backups, uptime monitoring and the SEO basics we set up when your site was built.
  • Support — by WhatsApp, email or the portal. We do not charge for asking a question, and we do not charge by the hour.

Redesigns: a different website, not a different photo

A content edit changes what your site says. A redesign changes what your site is — a new layout, a new look, a new arrangement of the whole thing. That is the one piece of work we charge separately for: ₦4,000, once, through Paystack from your portal.

Redesigns are optional. Many customers never ask for one, and nothing about your subscription obliges you to. If you ask for two redesigns in a year, that is two fees — which is also why we would rather spend a few minutes first to make sure the second one is the one you want.

The redesign fee is refundable while the redesign has not been produced. Ask at hello@orisun.site and we will tell you exactly which state your redesign is in before you pay for anything.

Missed renewals and the grace period

Plans do not expire overnight on a technicality. If a renewal payment fails, we keep trying once a day (up to eight attempts for that period) and email you; there is a 3-day grace period, counted from your expiry date, to update the card. Renewal reminders go out 7 and 1 days before the charge is due.

We do not take your website down over a missed renewal. What pauses at the end of the 3-day grace period is the business mailbox: it stops sending and receiving until the subscription is paid again, and an optional add-on domain we were covering stops being renewed for the next term. Your website, your content and your photos are not deleted, and on a paid renewal everything is restored as it was — the mailbox comes back with the mail it already holds.

If you cancelled deliberately rather than missing a payment, the same applies: your site stays live to the end of the period you paid for, and the mailbox lives exactly as long as the subscription does.

We hold your content for at least 90 days after a subscription ends, so coming back is easy: renew and we republish the same site at the same address. After that window we may release the address, so tell us if you want longer.

How to ask for a refund or cancel

Email hello@orisun.site, message us on WhatsApp at +234 904 910 1934 (or +234 703 875 6573, the line published across this site), or cancel yourself in the portal at orisun.site/portal — whichever is easiest. If you are writing about a specific payment, include the order or payment reference from your confirmation email; it saves a day of back-and-forth.

Tell us which you want: a refund, or just a cancellation with the site kept live to the end of the paid period. They are different things and we will not assume.

We confirm receipt within two working days and tell you plainly whether the refund is approved and why — in writing, with the amount. Approved refunds are issued through Paystack back to the same payment method the money came from; we cannot redirect a refund to a different card or a different bank account.

Once we have issued the refund the money is no longer with us: Paystack and your bank or card issuer set the time it takes to appear on your statement, usually within five to ten working days. Refunds are normally visible on your next card statement.

If you are unhappy with a decision on a refund, say so and ask for it to be reviewed. We would rather resolve it than win an argument. Nothing in this policy takes away a right you have under Nigerian consumer law.

Changes to this policy

Prices, cycle lengths, the redesign fee, the grace period and the commission rate are set by OrisunSites and can change; the figures that apply to you are the ones shown when you order or when a renewal is charged, not the ones written here. We email you before a renewal at a changed price, and you can cancel at that point in the ordinary way.

If we change the substance of this policy, we will date the new version and put a note on orisun.site. It does not apply retroactively to a payment already taken.

Still unsure?

Ask before you pay, not after. Email hello@orisun.site or message WhatsApp +234 904 910 1934 and we will tell you exactly what a refund would look like for your order — including whether a domain has been registered in your name yet.
